A New Year, A New Post
I’ve moved. A new apartment, in a new complex, but in the same town. That’s why things have continued to be scattered on the site. Moving is a big deal, especially when you do it yourself; especially when you’ve helped your parents move two weeks before. So, posts here have been haphazard -- behind on the current running short story, and a bit behind on the new Lord Dag season to go up; and by the looks of the dates of these D&D Interludes/Blog posts a few weeks behind on that as well.
However, now that things are settling down it seems I will have time actually to sit and write. That is my primary goal with this entire website, besides trying to bring people what I find interesting and a bit humorous.
What have I been up to since I last posted? Well, D&D, obviously. Moving, incredibly obvious. I did see Rogue One; which was, I must say, a delightful treat and a genuinely excellent film.
A few things I’m glad about, for one, is that 2016 is over. It’s been a rough year, which everyone is saying and I’m not sure if it’s just because of the election, celebrity deaths and overall stress that some world events have caused in our ever increasing connected age, or what.
But personally, I’ve moved this entire year. That isn’t an exaggeration either. My grandparents moved from West Virginia to here early winter 2016; my father sold his business, and I moved him out of there; my girlfriend and I moved, my parents moved, and I’ve been bouncing things around from place to place, from storage garage to storage garage in-between all of that.
To add onto all that stress, I’ve had fundamental shifts in my personal life; a close family member died, another member (my GF's side) go into a long-term nursing facility and just dealing with the general anxiety that job changes and all of this change brings.
What’s the goal of all of this? I’m not too sure. I just know that this is the first post of 2017 and I’m excited. “The Mad Dwarf” is almost finished, I’ve got some new Lord Dag strip ideas, and we are finishing up a year-long D&D campaign this weekend (more on that to come later this week in a new Interlude piece). There it is; it’s short and rambling, but it’s SOMETHING, and I think that is the most important thing. I’m doing something and posting something and maybe this new year will be a bit less stressful overall. And if it isn’t? Well, maybe it will be good stress opposed to bad stress if you catch my drift.
Keep watching the site. I promise new cool stuff is to come.
